Previous Trips to Virginia Tech
The Terrapin Nation descended on Blacksburg in fairly good numbers for
an ESPN Thursday night game back in 2004. It was excellent football
weather with gray skies and cool temperatures. We turned in the Prices
Fork Road Lot and set up shop on a large grassy area adjacent to the
road, which allowed us to wave in Terrapin fans as they turned from
West Campus Drive onto Prices Fork Road.
Because it was a Thursday night game, there were still
some VT students parked in the lot. Our interactions with VT fans were
very friendly, and we quickly found common ground in ripping the
spoiled brats of Whoville, Va. There were some port-o-potties nearby,
and I believe some of the campus buildings adjacent to the lot were
open for restroom use. It's a decent walk to the stadium, but
that is to be expected with the closer lots reserved for VT
donors.
Visiting teams' woes in Lane Stadium are well
documented. If
you can get time off work, the Turtles could use all the support they
can get in this key ACC rivalry game. --PK

Victory Breakfast
A Roanoke College alum and friend of Team A-Game has recommended
Ernie's as a good spot for breakfast in Roanoke. Ernie's Bar and Grill
is at 210 Market St. SE, Suite B, Roanoke, VA 24011. The Terrapin
Nation is welcome to fuel up for the ride home with a (hopeful)
victory breakfast Friday morning.

Bring the Flag

The Terrapin Nation made a good showing tailgating on the Virginia Tech
campus prior to the teams' Thursday night game on ESPN in 2004. This is
a nice grassy area that abuts Prices Fork Road and the adjoining public
parking lot.
