Did you bring your A-Game today??? The 14th season of the A-Game Tailgate is getting closer by the day. The A-Game Tailgate is a football phenomenon that began Oct. 19, 1996, when diehard football fans Paul Krome and Neil Hall took in our first University of Maryland football gameday at Byrd Stadium in College Park. We became instant fans — of the Terps and of tailgating, recruiting like-minded fans to join Team A-Game. We're entering our 11th year as season-ticket holders and have expanded the number in our group, and our tailgate parties, considerably over the years. We are proud to say that the A-Game Tailgate was named the “Top Orange Bowl Tailgate Party” by Terrapin Times magazine in January 2002, and it was featured on the Orange Bowl pregame shows of Channels 7 and 9 in Washington, D.C. The A-Game is featured on the national tailgating Web site Tailgating America. We also gained national exposure on ESPN's College Gameday on Nov. 30, 2002, before the regular season finale vs. Wake Forest. Prior to the North Carolina game Nov. 1, 2003, Jess Atkinson and FridgeTV stopped by the A-Game for an interview. FridgeTV also interviewed Team A-Game in the rain prior to the Temple game Oct. 8, 2005. The 2006 season saw us achieve our milestone 100th tailgate party. But the Terps aren't our only passion. Team A-Game also makes regular appearances at Ravens games, and the Regents Cup Game featuring Maryland cross-state rivals Salisbury (alma mater of several A-Gamers) and Frostburg State, held annually at a neutral site in central Maryland. Agametailgate.com will tell you a little bit about us, our history, our food and more. The links on the left will help you get around the site, and also send you to other sites of interest. We invite you to join us! Our location for the majority of home games is Parking Lot 1d on the University of Maryland campus, right near the lane connecting 1d to Lot 1b. Click here to get a high-resolution PDF version (about 4 MB, for sharper printing) of the 2008 football parking lot map that shows the A-Game Tailgate location and parking suggestions for non-permit holders. Click here for a low-resolution PDF version of the same map. We also travel to several Maryland road games each season and maintain an informational Web page dedicated to getting the Terrapin Nation together for tailgating in enemy territory. Look for our 25-foot high flagpole, sporting the Maryland state flag and the red and white A-Game flag. Stop by for a Bratwurst...just make sure you bring your A-Game! 2008 UM Parking Lot
Map w/Tailgate Location in Lot 1d: Early Signing Period Ends with Team A-Game at 14 Strong for 2009 Fourteen veterans of the A-Game Tailgate have signed Tailgating National Letters of Intent for 2009 Maryland Football in the early signing period, Team A-Game announced today. "Recruiting is cyclical," said head chef Paul Krome. "People had to make decisions. We focused our recruiting efforts on quality veterans. The cliche would say we'll be a leaner, more mobile Team A-Game in 2009, but knowing the way our signees eat and drink, that couldn't be further from the truth." Team A-Game will continue to recruit and possibly add some late signees as the season draws near. Reservations are now being accepted for roAd trips. There are three games in North Carolina. The A-Game Tailgate will likely attend at least two of those games. Discussion continues on when Family Day 2009 will take place. Oct. 4 against Clemson is a possibility. E-mail Team A-Game with ticket requests for road games or other single games.
